The debate has just begun but the statitics are in and the spin has begun. Rarely do we have the medical professionals divided over a treatment that has been over a wide range for so long. However the week before Chistmas 2006, researchers at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center confirmed and announced that their studies found that the number of breast cancer victims in the U.S. had decreased by more than 7 %. in 2002 Women’s Health Initiative published the results of a Hormone Replacement Therapy study that showed found increased health risks among HRT users, mostly risk for stroke and breast cancer. Millions of women stopped hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and millions more avoided HRT following the publication of these results.
